Final World Challenge
ST. LUCIA’S world class athlete, Levern Spencer jumped her way to a third place finish in the Final World Challenge meeting of the 2016 season which was held on Tuesday Zagreb, Croatia.
On a very cold night when the top three places were only able to clear a similar height of 1.89 metres, the event was won by Olympic finalist Svetlana Radzvil of Uzbekistan, with Yulia Luvchenko of Ukraine placing second and Levern Spencer in third place.
The star athlete from St. Lucia recently created history by becoming the first St. Lucian to make the finals of an Olympics meet and created history again by placing 2nd overall in the 2016 Diamond race behind Olympic champion Ruth Beitia of Spain.
Spencer is now preparing for her final competition of her highly successful 2016 season tomorrow, in Brussels, Belgium, following which she is expected home for some much needed rest.
