Does Negative Thinking Cause Memory Problems?
YOUR Toxic Thoughts ~ Does negative thinking cause memory problems?
Q: Dear Regina, for a long while now I have not been feeling myself. Often I have sad and sometimes frustrated feelings. I have tried a few things to boost my energy with eating vitamin supplements and even anti-depressants at one time. I do not feel any better and my memory is getting worse. I used to be so lively and work a lot. I don’t like this and really hate myself for not shaking this off. My church prays for me but God is not hearing our prayers. Nothing seems to work. What would you do in my situation?
A: My goodness dear, you seem to be in such turmoil. Firstly I am not you and I can only imagine what you are feeling. I will remind you that I am not a doctor and my recommendations are based on my nursing knowledge and personal and professional experiences along with research on the mind.
Secondly, it seems you have tried a few things that have not been successful. I am sure your doctors have taken tests to rule out any deficiencies or other conditions otherwise they would not have just put you on anti-depressants. My first thought when I was reading your story, I noted the tone of your message. You talk about God and you may believe in Him but you really do not BELIEVE what He says about you. You seem to carry a guilt and anger of yourself. These negative thoughts of yourself are very toxic and will affect your belief system.
If you do not believe that your God created you from His likeness with His Love you are pushing your healing away. You are choosing death in your own mind. Your Bible verse 2 Timothy 1:7says that your God has not given you fear but with a power and a love and a sound mind. Deuteronomy 30:19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.
These verses and many more are in line with neuro and quantum science which means the Creator has created you in love. You are wired for love. When you choose negative thoughts (based on fear) and believe them you are choosing death. You are creating your own toxic thoughts in your mind. Jesus and Paul of the Bible talk about renewing your mind. And Paul did it daily. I recommend changing your thought life. This takes time but you can do it.
The longer you choose and believe negative thoughts the more your mind will signal your brain malfunction. You will have foggy days, scattered thoughts, problem thinking, memory problem, and also all of the cancers and illnesses we have in the World. The body is magnificently made and has the ability to heal itself as God created it this way. He also gave us the ability to not believe it can heal. You have a choice and you are in control. You are not in control of bad things that happen, but you are in control of how you think about it and respond to it. If you allow the bad things to overtake your mind you will be in a walking dead zone. This is a large topic and is only brushed on here. You can find more information about changing your negative thought life to a healthy positive life from books and articles written by Dr Cindy Trim, Dr Caroline Leaf just to name a couple. You can also set an appointment with any memory specialist to measure where your thinking ability is and be guided from there.
The recommendations above need special guidance. It is not as easy as written when you have years of thinking negatively about yourself or life. It will take dedication and time to change the way you think. Seek assistance.
