FOOTBALL action continues this evening at the Gros Islet Playing Field in the Gros Islet Football League / District Representative Cup with two games.
In game 1 Super J Northern United B will play Windjammer from 5.00 p.m; while Gros Islet Polices takes on Glace GMC at 7.00 p.m.
Last Sunday there were two games featuring Beausejour FC against Gros Islet Veterans and Sandals versus GMC United.
In the first encounter Gros Islet Veterans went ahead in the first half with a goal from Stewart Alcide in the 19th minutes. Beausejour FC equalised in the 30th minute with a goal from Elan Joseph. They further went ahead in the 36th minute with a goal from Zaccheus Jones ending the first half of play 2-1 in their favour.
Following the half time break Gros Islet Veterans equalized with a goal from Francis Lastic in the 83rd minutes, but Beausejour FC came back and scored two more goals from Elan Joseph in the 85th minute and KenvinMcPhee with a penalty in the 88th minutes giving Beausejour FC the win 4 – 2.
The second game Sandals defeated GMC United through a Trevor Phillip goal in the 37th minute.
