CONCACAF staged an Anti-doping Workshop in collaboration with FIFA from the 28th October to the 29th October in Miami.

The official, two-day Anti-Doping Workshop was convened for Concacaf’s 41 members at the Nations League Headquarters in Miami.

The key focus areas of the Meeting centers on bringing together the heads and legal directors of anti-doping units from all six global confederations to align testing protocols and regulatory compliance.

It also reviewed adaptations and strategies ahead of the upcoming World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) 2027 global regulations update.

The meeting is also proposing the formation of a dedicated Football Anti-Doping Working Group to streamline knowledge sharing and risk assessments.

Some of the topics which are being discussed at this meeting includes and not limited to:

 Compliance in Anti-Doping and the roles of Member Associations

 2027 World Anti-Doping Code and Major Modifications

 FIFA Anti-Doping Program

 Education Objectives and Building National Programs.

Attending this all-important strategic meeting was Dr. Natasha Innocent from St. Lucia, the St. Lucia Football Association’s {SLFA} go to physician.

According to Dr. Innocent, the course was a much needed one. It reminded all Member Associations representatives of how important Anti-Doping is not just for Football, but by Sport as a whole.

The need for educating players first before them ever having to experience doping control was reiterated and also ensuring compliance with Antidoping Code.

This course sparked the creation of a Concacaf Anti-Doping Educator within one’s Member Association with the sole purpose of promoting and delivering anti-doping education.
