All eyes are on the girls as the St. Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. hosted another major event which was aimed at promoting female football.

Young females took to the field to kick, run, score, and enjoy the beautiful game as the excitement continued at the SLFA Inc. and Leagues’ Girls’ Football Festivals.
The event which was held on Saturday 24th October at the Micoud Playing Field saw students from Mon Repos Patience Combined School, Micoud Primary School, and Micoud Secondary joined in the fun, showing enthusiasm, energy, and a love for football.
The festivals provided girls with a welcoming space to embrace football, develop their skills, build confidence, make new friends, and discover new opportunities in the sport.
As part of the Saint Lucia Football Association Inc. (SLFA Inc) grassroots initiative, four festivals have been held this year, reaching South Castries, Vieux Fort North, Babonneau, Micoud & Mon Repos. Each festival brings football closer to young girls and encourages more females to get involved in the game.
The SLFA Inc. partnered with the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) and Forest Springs who ably supported the initiative.
The SLFA says the participation of the young ladies would not have been possible without the involvement of entities like the leagues, parents, schools, coaches, and community members. The success of last Saturday’s event sets the stage for the final such showcase for the year.
The next group of participants will converge on Choiseul on November 21, 2026, as the SLFA closes off the slate of female football promotional events for the year.
