Dominant Play in Under-19 Schools’ Netball

This week, the Ministry of Education, Youth Development, Sports and Digital Transformation Under-19 Netball Tournament continued with more exciting results at the Beausejour Indoor Facility.

On Wednesday, Sir Ira Simmons Secondary (SISS) , St. Joseph’s Convent (SJC) and the Saint Lucia Sports Academy (SLSA) were the standout performers recording impressive victories on Day Two of the competition.

In the opening encounter, SISS triumphed over Babonneau Secondary School , taking an early advantage deep into the game with quarter scores; 6-3, 12-7, 20-10 and 24-16.

SISS Goal Shoot Jazan Willie led with 16 goals from 21 attempts, while Goal Attack Valenshia Joseph added eight goals from 16 attempts. For Babonneau Secondary, Goal Shoot Keejan Serverin scored 14 goals from 21 attempts and Goal Attack Samara Edward chipped in with two goals from five attempts.

SLSA were dominant in game 2, powering their play past Castries Comprehensive Secondary School 29-7.

The academy lads were in command from the onset with a tight grip on the game, reflected in quarter scores ; 5-0, 14-4, 22-5 and 29-7.

Goal Shoot Isabella Emilien shone with 26 goals from 32 attempts; while CCSS Goal Shoot Rachelle Joseph, converted four of nine attempts, and Goal Attack Kiana Delice, netted three goals from four attempts.

In the final game , SJC earned an emphatic victory over Entrepot Secondary School 41-11. SJC took control leading 12-3 at the first break before extending their advantage to 22-6, 36-7 and eventually 41-11.

Goal Shoot Iyana Williams was outstanding, scoring 30 times from 36 attempts, with support from Goal Attack Skai St. Clair, who converted six of seven attempts, while Goal Shoot Xanaiia Emmanus maintained a perfect record with five goals from five attempts. For Entrepot Secondary, Goal Shoot A. Leon topped with nine goals from 13 attempts.

There were more sizzling action in Group B of the competition , on Wednesday, at the Micoud Multi-Purpose Court, with Beanefield Comprehensive Secondary School, Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School, and Sir Arthur Lewis Community College all registered convincing victories.

– Beanefield Comprehensive Secondary School vs. Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School – 21- 13

– Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School vs. Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School – 20-16

– Sir Arthur Lewis Community College vs. Choiseul Secondary School- 39-13
