Laborie residents will have the opportunity to strengthen their business, leadership and digital skills later this month as BizConnect Caribbean continues its islandwide Community-Based Training Initiative with a free workshop on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

The session, which will be held at the National ICT Centre in Laborie, forms part of an initiative launched earlier this year to bring professional development opportunities directly into communities. The programme aims to reach more than 300 participants across five districts by August 2026, equipping community leaders, entrepreneurs and students with practical skills to support local development.

Participants will receive training in financial literacy, community engagement and advocacy, in addition to digital skills and communication through interactive sessions. The workshop will be facilitated by Anthia Branford, a retired Saint Lucian marketing manager, and Miranda George Arthur, an IT specialist and software trainer.

The programme is open to a wide cross-section of participants, including college and university students, fifth-form students, community and organisational leaders, women business and shop owners—particularly those over the age of 40— as well as Laborie-based entrepreneurs. Individuals who simply wish to develop new skills are also encouraged to participate.

Interested persons are encouraged to register by 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026 using the online registration form: https://forms.gle/QMCVhQ9tJs1jguHYA.
