A young man from the Anse La Raye community has become the latest victim in a tragic fatal shooting incident.
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Shawndel Deterville, known as “Sonny,” of Mole Street, Anse La Raye.
Reports indicate that on Tuesday, March 3, at approximately 11:39 p.m., officers from the Anse La Raye Police Station responded to a crime scene on Mole Street.
Initial findings reveal that the victim sustained gunshot wounds and was treated at the scene by personnel from the Saint Lucia Fire Service. He was subsequently transported to the Owen King European Hospital (OKEU) via ambulance but was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
In connection with the case, three individuals are currently assisting police with their investigation. A post-mortem examination will be conducted at a later date.
