Global Recycling Day Activity Scheduled for Anse La Raye – Saturday, March 14th

.

In anticipation of Global Recycling Day 2026, scheduled for March 18th, the theme this year is “Don’t Think Waste — Think Opportunity.”

This theme encourages us to view discarded materials as valuable resources rather than mere trash, emphasizing the importance of innovation, sustainability, and recycling in reducing landfill waste and combating climate change.

In this spirit, Greening the Caribbean, in partnership with the Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority (SLSWMA), has organized a Residential Community Recycling Drive in Anse La Raye to commemorate this significant environmental day.

Following the success of last year’s event in Marchand, stakeholders are expanding their efforts to include the collection of e-waste and aluminum cans—two major waste streams—while also educating the community on the importance of diverting these materials from landfills.

St. Lucians have been invited to join in to making a difference!
