The tagline ‘Timeless Rhythm and Artistry’ perfectly embodies the festival’s essence, honoring enduring musical traditions and innovative creative expression. It reflects Saint Lucia’s deep cultural legacy, where the rhythms of jazz and artistic performances inspire generations.

This phrase signifies both the island’s heritage and drive for innovation, highlighting the celebration of iconic artists alongside emerging talent. It echoes past memorable moments, like Kingdom Night’s gospel tributes, affirming Saint Lucia’s spiritual and artistic continuity.

Tourism Minister Dr. Ernest Hilaire proudly stated that the jazz festival is the nation’s most cherished event.

“For over three decades, this festival has transcended mere performances; it is a powerful expression of our identity and creativity—a platform where Saint Lucia shares its soul with the world,” he asserted.

Dr. Hilaire emphasized that community jazz events are crucial for promoting local talent, strengthening the creative industry, and empowering artists to build successful careers. This year, the festival will showcase a diverse array of musical genres featuring top-billed artists, including Capleton—the dynamic reggae ‘Fire God’ from Jamaica, Kes the Band, the award-winning US-Caribbean crooner Billy Ocean, renowned gospel singers, country & western stars, and a host of exceptional local performers, including Nerdy, October 4, and the inspirational Shirley Ann Cyril-Mayers.

Thursday’s opening act, featuring young dancers and a brass ensemble, set an electrifying tone for the evening; then TC Brown followed and delivered the popular Creole quadrille rendition ‘Non Mwen Se Estephane’ alongside talented dancers.

The festival’s promotional slogan proudly declares: “Celebrate more than a festival; experience an event that embodies artistic creativity and places Saint Lucia on the global stage.”

He highlighted the significance of the ‘Arts and the City’ initiative, emphasizing that this vibrant cultural experience extends well beyond city limits.

This year’s artistic production will also spotlight events in Anse La Raye and other communities.

The CDF’s featured event, the National Icon Series, will honor Edward “Chef Harry” Joseph for his remarkable culinary contributions, hospitality, and community philanthropy.
