Team Saint Lucia Ready to Compete in CONCACAF Under-17 Women Qualifiers

The Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. has announced the players who will proudly represent the island at the Concacaf Under-17 Women Qualifiers.

This important tournament will take place in Curacao from January 26 to February 2. Team Saint Lucia will compete in Group C, facing off against Antigua & Barbuda, Cayman Islands, Guatemala, and Haiti.

The CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s Qualifiers for 2026 will commence with Round One, featuring 28 nations divided into groups. Group A matches are set to kick off on January 24 at Estadio Miguel Chocorrón Buitrago in Managua, with Dominican Republic taking on Dominica and Nicaragua facing Belize.

This tournament will determine which teams advance to the final round, with the ultimate winner earning a spot at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The competition structure promotes regional development and showcases elite youth football.

Team Saint Lucia  departed from the island on Friday, January 23, and includes:

Forwards:  – Azia William – Kayla Polius – Amaya Emmanuel

The advancement process for the CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s Qualifiers is as follows: 

Round One:

 – Teams will compete in a round-robin format within their groups.

– Standings are determined by points (win = 3, draw = 1, loss = 0), with tiebreakers including goal difference, goals scored, head-to-head results, and fair play.

Qualifying to Round Two (Final Round): 

– The top team (and potentially the top two teams, depending on the cycle) from each group will advance to Round Two or the Final Round.

– In some formats, select best runners-up across groups may also qualify.

Final Round (Round Two):

 – Advancing teams will enter new groups and play a further round-robin phase.

– The top teams in the Final Round will secure qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, with additional spots potentially allocated for other regional representatives or playoff positions.
