Film Director Elijah Anatole and Artlas Studios have accomplished much, the latest is the official selection of their newest short film Omyra, for the Chandler International Film Festival (CIFF).This is a significant achievement for Saint Lucia’s emerging film industry and is expected to be the first of many in the coming weeks and months, as Omyra continues its submission run across major global festivals.

The Chandler International Film Festival, held annually in Arizona, USA, is one of the fastest-growing independent film festivals in North America. The 2026 edition, which is their 10th anniversary, of the festival will take place from January 23 to February 1, 2026, bringing together filmmakers, industry executives, distributors, and cinema lovers from around the world. Known for its high standards, CIFF showcases films of outstanding artistic and cultural merit, making this selection a prestigious milestone for both Artlas Studios and Saint Lucia.

Artlas Studios has also submitted Omyra to several other leading film festivals across the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia, and early indicators, according to Artlas Studios, suggest a strong likelihood of additional acceptances. The film’s unique emotional tone, cultural depth, and visual storytelling have resonated with viewers and programmers alike, positioning it as a standout work from the Caribbean.

“This is a huge milestone for Artlas Studios and for Saint Lucian filmmaking,” said director Elijah Anatole. “Every international selection opens doors, creating opportunities for collaboration, investment, and visibility. Our goal is to help establish Saint Lucia as a leader in Caribbean cinema, producing stories that move audiences worldwide.”

In addition to celebrating Omyra’s international breakthrough, Artlas Studios has begun auditions for its next short film, Letters From Ava. This upcoming project promises to be another deeply emotional and impactful production.

The film follows a heartfelt journey of grief, healing, and unresolved love. After the passing of her sister-Ava, Maya discovers a series of letters and diary entries Ava left behind; words she never got the chance to share. As the story unfolds, these letters begin to guide, confront, and ultimately heal Maya, reminding them of the fragile and precious moments we often overlook until it’s too late.

Auditions are currently being held at Caribbean Cinemas in Saint Lucia.
