BLACKHEART Champions for 2011 Anse la Raye and former semi finalist Mon Repos will meet in the finals of the Blackheart Production St. Lucia Football Association Play off finals at 8:00 p.m. this coming Saturday at the Marchand Playing Field.

The winner of that encounter will gain a spot in the tournament’s top 16.

According to Brian Mc Donald one of BHP Directors, football enthusiasts coming to take in the showpiece will see a key warm up clash between the 2014 Blackheart Champions Canaries and 2013 champions Gros Islet, while from 6.00 p.m. home team Marchand will take on Mabouya Valley.

Meanwhile, on Sunday last Mon Repos and Anse la Raye earned their right to play in the finals after the second leg of the play off matches were completed before a massive crowd at the Micoud Playing Field.

Mon Repos who were also in last year’s play off final and lost out to La Clery were the first to book their place in the play off final for 2015 after they won their second leg encounter 1 – 0 against Desruisseaux courtesy of a goal in the 25th minute from Evanus Emmanuel. Mon Repos advanced to the finals 2-1 on aggregate over the two legs after the first leg ended in a one all draw.

In the second play off encounter Anse la Raye made it into the play off finals, after playing to a 1 – 1 draw with Choiseul for a 3 – 2 aggregate win to advance.

In the first leg Anse la Raye had scored a 2 – 1 come from behind win and they had to come from behind again on Sunday evening to qualify for the play off finals. Miguel Cox had put Choiseul ahead in the 43rd minute, but national player Ericson Reid equalized for Anse la Raye in the 58th minute.

Two promotional warm up games were also played in addition to the play off games at the same venue. In the first encounter three time former Blackheart champions Mabouya Valley edged out South Castries 3 – 2. Vernon Abbott with a brace and a penalty from Jason Jn Louis were on target for Mabouya Valley, while Dwight Pierre and Daran Hippolyte were the goal scorers for South Castries.

In the final match on the evening another three time former Blackheart Champion Dennery and semi finalist last year Vieux Fort South played to a 1 – 1 draw. National Under – 17 player Noah Nicholas converted for Vieux Fort South, while Junior Cox equalised for Dennery.
