During a handover ceremony on July 7, Chamber President Ross Gardner delivered an impactful donation of tech equipment, including desktop computers, laptops, and tablets, directly to Police Commissioner Verne Garde.
This initiative is a direct result of proactive collaboration between the business community and the RSLPF, aimed at enhancing public safety.
The RSLPF management acknowledges the vital support from corporate partners: LUCELEC, Heineken Saint Lucia, Digicel, St. Lucia Distillers, Tru Value, St. Lucia Linen, Sea Spray Cruises, Renwick & Co., Massy Stores, Real Foods–KFC, IBS, J.E. Bergasse, The Computer Store, and Carasco & Sons.
This donation will significantly strengthen the RSLPF’s digital capabilities and support its aggressive crime-fighting strategy.

Minister for Home Affairs and Crime Management Jeremiah Norbert addressed attendees, emphasizing the relentless efforts of police officers to maintain law and order with the backing of the government.
He affirmed the necessity for a comprehensive approach in combating crime: “The harsh reality is that crime affects everyone, and we must adopt an inclusive strategy where all stakeholders contribute,” Norbert asserted, while recognizing the substantial donation from the Chamber’s membership.
Chamber of Commerce President Ross Gardner asserted, “The battle against crime cannot be won by the police alone; it requires a robust partnership between public and private sectors, as well as active citizenship.”
He continued, “Safer communities cultivate stronger economies, healthier neighborhoods, and a more resilient society. The Chamber is firmly committed to investing not only in infrastructure but also in relationships that foster progress.”
Gardner emphasized that this handover signifies more than just a donation; it represents a clear statement of confidence—in the leadership of the RSLPF, in the new recruits commencing their training, and in the effective partnerships between the public and private sectors that yield measurable benefits for the country’s communities.
In a decisive Facebook post, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre commended the Chamber of Commerce for “delivering vital assets to the brave men and women of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force.”
He remarked, “This gesture transcends a mere donation; it exemplifies the power of partnerships in building a safer Saint Lucia.”
PM Pierre underscored, “The fight against crime demands a holistic approach that goes beyond policing. It necessitates a united effort from government, private sector, civil society, and communities to tackle both the symptoms and root causes of crime.”
Furthermore, the Prime Minister affirmed that “the government is steadfast in its commitment to fostering these collaborations, not only to reinforce law enforcement but to create opportunities, promote equity, and support holistic development that uplifts every Saint Lucian.”
