In an effort to improve service delivery and streamline the movement of goods through Saint Lucia’s ports, the Customs and Excise Department has announced the launch of a pilot program extending operating hours at Shed 6.
The initiative, which forms part of a broader operational review, will run from July 8 to September 8, 2025. During this two-month period, Shed 6 will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. without a lunch break, allowing for uninterrupted service. Additionally, cashier services will be available until 3:30 p.m. to better accommodate customers and stakeholders.
According to the Department, the pilot is intended to assess how extended hours impact efficiency and customer satisfaction. Data and feedback collected during the pilot period will help determine whether the extended schedule should be implemented more broadly across the department.
The Customs and Excise Department has expressed its appreciation to the public and stakeholders for their continued support.
