The Association of Human Resource Management Professionals (Saint Lucia) Ltd. (AHRMP) officially launched on 8 February 2025, at the Bay Gardens Hotel under the theme “Advancing HR Excellence: Unveiling the Path to Innovation.” The event brought together key stakeholders and HR professionals from across the island to witness the unveiling of a transformative vision for the HR profession in Saint Lucia.
Attendees had the privilege of hearing from the keynote speaker, Cavelle Joseph-St. Omer, President of the Caribbean Institute for Human Resource Management (CAIHRM), and the Human Resource Management Association of Trinidad & Tobago (HRMATT). In her compelling address, she underscored the importance of HR professionals focusing on outcomes rather than processes, stating: “HR should not be defined by what it does, but by what it delivers—results that enrich organizations, employees, and communities alike.” Joseph-St. Omer further urged the Association to become an influential change champion, fostering a culture of innovation, integrity, and empathy in the workplace.
The event provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of AHRMP’s mission, which encompasses establishing standards for HR excellence, advocating for ethical leadership, fostering professional growth and learning, and influencing workforce policy. Additionally, the Association proudly introduced its Inaugural Board of Directors to the audience, including President Goretti Paul, Vice President Charmaine Anthony, Secretary Naomi Wilson-Effs, and Treasurer Joanna Biscette.
Goretti Paul expressed gratitude for the support received and emphasized the Association’s transformative role, saying: “This launch marks the beginning of a journey to elevate HR practices across Saint Lucia. We are committed to empowering HR practitioners with the tools and resources they need to thrive in a constantly evolving workplace.”
The AHRMP expresses heartfelt gratitude to its sponsors and partners, including HRWise Inc., LUCELEC, Heineken St. Lucia, Unicomer, Real Foods Inc., P1 Marketing, Berkeley Bank and Trust, Bay Gardens Hotel, St. Lucia Distillers, and CPJ St. Lucia.
