PRESS RELEASE — St. Lucia School of Ballet and Modern Dance, located in Balata union, Castries and at the ICT Access Centre, Vieuxfort, is proud to announce their 45th Anniversary – 1979-2024
45years and beyond!
Specializing in Classical Ballet syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance and in Modern Dance of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing – under the tutelage of a visionary leader and founder Mrs. Theresa Lowrie-Collymore –RAD RTS, AISTD, SLMM, SLMH.
St. Lucia School of Ballet and Modern Dance, is committed to providing students with world-class training in a creative, high-energy environment that encourages artistic exploration and technical excellence. The work taught is in the form of Dance syllabi scientifically structured and delivered by highly trained dedicated teachers. The expertise provided is to inspire and nurture the student’s individual potential, to push the dancer’s boundaries.
Mrs. Theresa Lowrie-Collymore is thrilled to announce the arrival of The Royal Academy of Dance from the CEO department -Mr. Alistair Platt whom has come not only to congratulate the school on the occasion of their 45th Anniversary teaching the Classical Ballet syllabi but to also share his extensive expertise internationally in education, management and tourism.
Mr. Platt aims to enhance global thinking with relevance to the myriad of educational contexts across the world. He sees the arts as having such an important role to play in society, a vibrant and quality provision in the Arts is key.
In addition, Weslyn Stephens is arriving from the USA, a past student of St. Lucia School of Ballet and Modern Dance, who holds a BA in Dance and Anthropology and a Masters in Arts Politics and is a Dancer, Dance Educator and Choreographer will deliver her testimony.
Richard Ambrose, is a past student of St. Lucia school of Ballet and modern Dance who has trained both in RAD classical Ballet and Modern Dance with the ISTD, holding French teaching diplomas in Jazz and Contemporary Dance. A choreographer, teacher, and performer. Richard’s artistry extends to the stage as a dynamic actor, where his sense of movement and musicality has been lauded by independent juries- his contribution shall be deliverd.
Finally, Mrs. Sardia Cenac Prospere Past student of the ballet school. She is the first and presently the only Saint Lucian to acquire Advanced 1 Level certification and has completed Advanced 2 in classical ballet from the Royal Academy of Dance. She has also trained in modern dance. Mrs. Cenac Prospere shall be making her contribution bringing to the table her experience and point of view as a student whom, having chosen an alternative career, still enhanced her professional development.
Mrs. Cenac Prospere is a practicing lawyer.
