Team Saint Lucia Under-15 Girls leaves the island today (Saturday), to compete in the CONCACAF Under-15 Girls’ Championships in Aruba.
The team comprised 18 players and a technical unit, and they are fully prepared to take on the challenge ahead.
The young females are expected to make a significant impact on the development of football on the island, with the ultimate goal of having a representative Saint Lucian team participate in the FIFA World Cup.
Over the years, the Saint Lucia Football Association [SLFA] Inc. has revamped its football programme for the development of women’s football on the island.
SLFA President Lyndon Cooper says the association remains committed to ‘professionalize’ the sport on the island, and it is imperative to develop both Male and Female Senior professional squads.
Newly appointed head coach of Saint Lucia’s Girls U-15 squad, Franklin Mc Donald noted that the team is in transition and going into its 2nd year of the football development programme.
Mc Donald asserted that it is all about developing a “unique mindset”, to help enhance the players mental aptitude and physical prowess.
Team Saint Lucia Girls U-15 are as follows:
Goal Keepers – Alyssa Flavius, Aquilla Agdomar
Defenders – Hayla Samuel (vice-captain), Leneese Robinson, Aria Andrew, Ivana Marshall, Hailey Thomas, and Alice Phillips
Midfielders – Tori Fannis (captain), Kyla Lionel, Mariya Clovis, Neolissa Frederick, Makayla Joseph, Azia Williams, and Angelic Medard.
Forwards – Amaya Emmanuel, Kayla Polius, and Kennya Richard
Technical Staff – Head Coach Francis McDonald, Assistant Coach Mineva Charles, Goalkeeping Coach Trevor Anderson, and Manager, Shenelle Louis.

– August 6th: Saint Lucia vs. Aruba All Stars – 5.00 pm

– August 9th: Saint Lucia vs. Bonaire – 5.00 pm
