JQ Motors introduced a new brand at its Show Room in Choc Estate this week, marking a significant milestone for the dealership.
Brand Manager Albert Duncan who spoke at Thursday’s launch of the GWM brand of vehicles stated that not only are they reasonably priced but unique in design, perform exceptionally and features cutting-edge technology.
“The GWM brand includes a portfolio of five sub-brands, all of which are abuzz with excitement. At JQ, we currently offer three GWM lines boasting several models under the Havel, Tank and Poer brands,” Duncan stated.
The Haval models include ‘Jolion’, a small SUV that is available in both hybrid and petrol powertrains.
The ‘H6’ is a mid-sized SUV available in three versions: the ‘GT’ semi-tuned coupe, the standard SUV format and a hybrid version.
The Tank models include the 300 HEV, a large SUV that is currently available and the Tank 500 HEV that is already on its way.
“The specs are mind-blowing,” Duncan said, referring to the latter.
The Poer brand, on the other hand, features the ‘P-series’.
“These offer features for virtually every pick-up enthusiast,” Duncan said, noting that what distinguishes GWM from its competitors is its heavy investment in research and development, “creating vehicles that are comfortable, practical and packed with fun useful tech.”
“Several models feature coloured HD tachometer screens that can change their appearance depending on the mode the vehicle is in. All (of) this is on offer for a fraction of the price when compared to similarly equipped models from other brands,” Duncan told the audience.
Further, he stated, “as far as after-sales support is concerned, all GWM models come with a six-year warranty (and) a quick access regional parts depot located in Jamaica – no waiting parts,” from China, where the vehicles are from.
The company rewarded its first GWM customer Lynn Monrose for being an ‘ambassador’ for the brand.
“She knew she needed a vehicle (but) she didn’t know what she was coming for and she was so impressed by the product even though she was not familiar with (it), she was able to put her faith is us and in that product and make an immediate decision. We seriously need to recognize that,” Brent Murphy, Chief Executive Officer of Caribbean Automotive Network (regional distributer for GWM), said.
Monrose told reporters that she is thrilled with her new purchase as it has a wide array of features.
“The vehicle has amazing features that I’ve never had before so I was happy to have that as well. GWM stands for Go with More and I’m definitely going with more,” Monrose said delightedly.
Boasting a modern look, GWM promises a ‘top notch’ experience to users.
Moreover, Brand Manager Albert Duncan noted, “The excitement doesn’t end here as we (are bringing) more options to our model line up in the near future,” he said.
Once more JQ Motors takes on another brand and makes a big noise about it. Pity that they don’t make a noise about the opening of a big new parts department instead of taking on yet yet another brand
Not only do they fail to stock sufficient spare parts for their catalogue of brands but also require that one pays the equivalent of a mortgage for spares in the unlikely event that they have any in the first place !
Come on JQ’s don’t leave it all to the after-market dealers to cover your inadequacies
