The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force will on Monday say its final goodbye to Police Constable 863 Nathan Timaitre who was killed earlier this month while engaged in a cash escort operation. He was off duty at the time.
Timaitre will be afforded a full Military Funeral. The body will be exposed at the police credit union yard after which the military parade will march along Bridge Street, turn right onto Jeremie Street, right turn on to Peynier Street and right onto Micoud Street to the entrance of the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.
After the service, the procession will march onto Laborie Street, then right onto Jeremie Street and left onto the John Compton Highway where a display will take place in Timaitre’s memory. His body will be interred at the Choc Cemetery where he will receive a grand military sendoff.
According to police “there will be areas where there will be no parking and where parking would be designated. On some of the narrow streets for example there will be no parking such as Laborie Street so that the parade can have free access. Actually it will not be for a long period so we are just asking members of the public to bear with us.”
One of the tenets I’ve always maintained is – If you kill, you hang – be it man, woman or child. Now we have a Policeman, one who once dedicated himself to fighting crime; it is just too easy to say fighting crime, this is not a game and some of us take it too lightly.
Here we have a young man, the proud son of his parents, cut down by criminals, whose only object is to steal and if anyone stands in their way, they will open fire and kill – which they did – and if his partner who was also shot did not make it, well so be it, as far as they were concerned, criminals don’t care.
I am watching very carefully, how the Law Courts deal with that particular situation. Short of hanging the bastards I hope its not just a slap on the hands; I have had much of a miasmatic reaction after the conclusion of sentencing of murderers in St. Lucia, kneeling and bowing down to the Laws of the U.K. and other rich Countries of the world, not hanging murderers.
Where I’m concerned, the Godless and Lawless societies like El Salvador can kill and allowed to be killed as many as they like – but St. Lici is small, we don’t have much, we can’t allow this kind of Lawlessness – at such a rate we can easily have a so called nation of poor women alone with small children. Tell U.K. etc we had to hang to send a strong message to criminals, Drug dealers and the gangs that something had to be done.
Today two Cops were shot, one died; tomorrow we cannot tell. The Tourist business with this kind of crime, like in Soufriere, its all in limbo. If these killers are not hanged to send a message, then live with it, good luck.
