The recent launch of the i-Screen Wound Management Module and handover of 30 tablet computers by the Taiwan Embassy in Saint Lucia to the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition is being hailed as another milestone in Saint Lucia-Taiwan friendship.

On the afternoon of Thursday, October 22, 2026, an official handover ceremony was held in the Bay Gardens Beach Resort’s conference room in Rodney Bay, Gros Islet, where officials explained that the module and equipment are critical to the prevention and control of metabolic chronic diseases in Saint Lucia.

The i-Screen App is a digital health data collection and management tool that screens for and manages metabolic chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. The handover ceremony was held two years after the i-Screen App was first launched in Saint Lucia, a joint initiative of Saint Lucia’s Ministry of Health and the Taiwan Embassy in Saint Lucia.

Created by Saint Lucia’s Health Information Unit in collaboration with the Cathay General Hospital in Taiwan and the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF), the i-Screen App connects directly to Saint Lucia’s National Health Information System (SLUHIS) to streamline patient records and continuity of care. The app is used across 30 primary health care centres and 8 health regions in Saint Lucia, and helps healthcare workers and Community Health Aides (CHAs) record patient health metrics, such as blood sugar and blood pressure, during community and wellness centre outreach.
