H.E. Menissa Rambally, the new Permanent Representative of Saint Lucia to the United Nations, today presented her credentials to the UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
During the brief formal ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed the best wishes of the Government and people of Saint Lucia and assured the Secretary-General of future dialogue and collaboration on key issues of importance to Saint Lucia. She also took the opportunity to reaffirm Saint Lucia’s commitment to multilateralism and the UN Charter, against the backdrop of the current extraordinary international landscape bedeviled by multiple crises and challenges.
The Secretary-General congratulated and welcomed Ambassador Rambally back to United Nations, and he assured her of his commitment and support to work with Saint Lucia on a range of issues including climate change, financing for development and the post COVID recovery. The two diplomats also discussed the potential of collaboration between the UN and Saint Lucia on youth empowerment and the youth economy.
