The St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP) has accused the United Workers Party (UWP) of “hijacking” traffic from its website and redirecting it to another digital space.
The SLP marked as fake a website it says was specifically established to derail users seeking information on its recently launched manifesto.
The Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) is condemning yet another shameless stunt by Allen Chastanet’s United Workers Party (UWP), this time in the digital space.
Screenshots reportedly circulating online show a website registered and is operating under the domain slpmanifesto.com. The SLP reports when Saint Lucians search for “SLP manifesto” online, one of the options redirects users to the UWP’s 2025 manifesto under that misleading web address.
The SLP says this is not an accident and describes the reported webpage as a calculated attempt to confuse voters and steal online traffic from the SLP.
The Labour Party clarified that their manifesto was available on their official website voteslp.lc and the domain slpmanifesto.com was fake and should not be entertained. The SLP confirmed that innocent individuals have already been duped in this regard.
The SLP believes Saint Lucians are now left to differentiate between “substance and gimmicks” mere days before the December 1st polls.
The SLP has called for what is believed to be a deliberate practice to cease immediately.
The Saint Lucia Labour Party says it will continue to campaign on its record, its ideas, its vision, not on deception.
