Corinth Secondary School Reclaims Cricket Glory After Over a Decade

Corinth Secondary School (CSS) has emerged victorious in the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Under-15 School 40 Over Cricket Championship, ending a long title drought in spectacular fashion. In a highly anticipated final held at the Gros Islet Playing Field, CSS triumphed over Choiseul Secondary School (ChSS) by six wickets to capture the coveted title.

The showdown began with Choiseul winning the toss and electing to bat. Their innings concluded at 146 all out in 35.5 overs. Kerlan Daniel anchored the innings with a solid 48, receiving support from Samuel Jean (25) and Shervon Mathurin (14). However, CSS’s bowling attack proved formidable, with Ethan St. Marthe delivering a match-winning performance—snagging four wickets for just 15 runs. Nicken Justin added to the pressure with figures of three for 19, while Tristan Wilson and Daniel Lorde each took one wicket.

Chasing a target of 147, Corinth Secondary came out with aggression and focus. They comfortably reached 149 for four in just 23.3 overs. Daniel Lorde top-scored with a composed 32, while Yorick Joseph remained unbeaten on 16. Contributions also came from Jasha Louis (15) and Tristan Wilson (11 retired hurt). Notably, extras played a significant role in the chase, adding an unexpected 63 runs to the tally. For Choiseul, Liam Wilson took two wickets for 44 runs, with Nyhile Charles and Samuel Jean grabbing one each.

Following the final, an awards ceremony was held to recognize outstanding individual performances throughout the tournament:
