Young Saint Lucian cycling star Denver Alphonse has once again proven his prowess by clinching 1st place in the recent St. Lucia Cycling Association’s 82km road race.

The event, organized by SLCA President Cyril Mangal, took place along the Julien Alfred highway.

The race, held on June 8, kicked off next to the Sol gas station, with cyclists traveling to the OKEU Hospital roundabout and then making ten laps around it, culminating back at the starting point.

Denver Alphonse displayed exceptional skill and endurance, finishing with a remarkable time of 2 hours, 26 minutes, and 31.24 seconds.

He outpaced Fidel Esnard, who secured 2nd place with a time of 2 hours, 27 minutes, and 39.22 seconds, and Gillan Moses, who took 3rd place at 2 hours, 28 minutes, and 56.62 seconds.

With this significant victory, Alphonse is poised and focused as he sets his sights firmly on the St. Lucia National Championship, scheduled for June 28th and 29th, where he aims to defend his national junior road race and time trial championship titles.
