
President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrives in Saint Lucia today on a visit that is a combination of official business and private and personal time. The African President is expected to be met by top government officials including the Governor General, Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre and Parliamentary Representative for Vieux Fort South Dr. Kenny Anthony at the Hewanorra International Airport accentuated by anthems and a military salute.
President Tinubu will, on Sunday, pay a courtesy call on the Governor General at Government House followed by a courtesy call on the Prime Minister on Monday at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence.
Monday’s schedule will continue with a joint sitting of the Senate and the House of Assembly at the William Jefferson Clinton Ballroom at Sandals Grande St. Lucia followed by a high-level working luncheon. The day’s events will culminate with a grand reception at Government House.
Tuesday’s events will see the Nigerian President visit the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) as he is expecting to engage with students of the education facility. President Tinubu will not leave the island before meeting with the Nigerian Community and Members of Cabinet at an evening cocktail at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence.
OECS leaders and representatives have been invited and expected to participate in the events marking the occasion. Prime Minister Pierre has already stated that Saint Lucia is eager to explore robust trade relations and forge mutual partnerships with African states.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to depart Saint Lucia on July 4th.
