Veteran footballers around the island will converge on the Dennery Playing Field on May 17th and 18th for what is deemed an exciting weekend of football action.
The weekend showcase is in preparation for the main event which is The St. Lucia International Masters Football Invitational organized by Veterans In Sports Inc. 18 teams will be in action on the preparatory weekend with the likes of Lancers FC, Gros Islet Veterans, Caricom Masters and home team Dennery All Blacks aiming to measure their state of readiness.
Meanwhile, the June 5th – 9th main event is expected to feature 11 foreign based teams. A total of 30 teams will compete in two divisions, over 40s and over 50s. While the main playing surface is The Dennery Playing Field other facilities will be utilized including The Gros Islet Mini Stadium and the Corinth Playing field.
Last years 40s champions Era Masters of Trinidad and Tobago are expected to attempt to retain the title. Masters Reloaded is expected to attempt the same in the 50s division.
