Saint Lucia Unveils The View at The Morne Visitor Stop Center

Saint Lucia’s tourism industry is thriving in 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic milestones and garnering international recognition. With nine nominations in the 2025 World Travel Awards—including the island’s first-ever nomination for Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination—Saint Lucia is setting new standards as a top-tier travel destination.

The Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture, and Information has responded to this growth with the official opening of the newly reconstructed The View @ The Morne Visitor Stop Center. The unveiling took place on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Morne Fortune, Castries.

A New Chapter in Tourism Development

Formerly known as the Morne Lay By Viewpoint, the site has long been cherished for its panoramic view of the Castries Harbor and surrounding cityscape. The upgraded facility aims to preserve this iconic vista while introducing modern, visitor-friendly infrastructure.

Key Features of the Project

  • Enhanced Lookout Point: A safer, more accessible platform made with eco-conscious materials and energy-efficient features.

  • Vendor-Friendly Spaces: Upgraded vending stalls provide attractive and functional areas for local artisans to sell their goods.

  • Improved Amenities: Clean restrooms, seating areas, and informative signage improve the overall guest experience.

Supporting Community and Culture

This development not only enhances the island’s tourism appeal but also strengthens community ties by creating economic opportunities for local vendors. The project reflects the Ministry’s commitment to sustainable tourism and cultural integration.

A Bright Future for Saint Lucia

With cruise tourism booming and more visitors arriving each year, initiatives like The View @ The Morne are vital to ensuring Saint Lucia remains competitive, welcoming, and uniquely Caribbean.
