Saint Lucia Rugby Football Union Congratulates Ms. Electra Marie-Yvonne Marcelle on her Selection for the Prestigious PAISAC Training Programme

The Saint Lucia Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) is proud to extend heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Electra Marie-Yvonne Marcelle on her successful selection for the esteemed Training Program in Applied Sport Sciences for Olympic Solidarity Scholarship Coaches, organized by the Programme d’Appui International au Sport Africain et des Caraïbes (PAISAC).

Established in 2002 under the auspices of UNESCO, PAISAC is a Canadian-based initiative dedicated to enhancing the professional competencies of coaches from African and Caribbean nations. With a strong emphasis on applied sport sciences, the program plays a pivotal role in developing sustainable and autonomous coach education systems across these regions.

Ms. Marcelle, who was nominated by the Saint Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC), has already successfully completed Phase I of the program—an intensive Distance Learning (E-Learning) module—which took place from 18th November to 13th December, 2024.

She is now preparing to embark on Phase II, a three-week in-person training module scheduled to take place in Montreal, Canada, from 17th May to 6th June, 2025. This phase will provide participants with hands-on experience and advanced instruction in sport science methodologies and coaching techniques.

Ms. Marcelle brings to the program a wealth of experience and passion. She is a dedicated educator at the Corinth Secondary School, a Level II certified rugby coach, and an active player with the Saint Lucia National Women’s Rugby Team. Her commitment to both teaching and sport exemplifies the leadership and dedication the PAISAC program seeks to cultivate.

The SLRFU applauds Ms. Marcelle’s achievement and is confident that her participation will not only enhance her personal and professional development but also contribute meaningfully to the advancement of rugby and sport education in Saint Lucia.

We wish her every success as she continues her journey through this prestigious program.
