Saint Lucia’s national junior record holder for the women’s 100m, Naomi London, delivered a remarkable performance at the Texas State Twilight meet in San Marcos, Texas, last weekend.
London, the island’s fastest Under-20 athlete, clocked an impressive 11.09 seconds to win the 100m. Although this time won’t set a new national record due to a wind reading of 2.2 meters per second—just above the legal limit—it’s a testament to her exceptional speed.
At just 18 years old, she is now recognized as the 33rd fastest teenager ever under all conditions and the eighth fastest from the Caribbean.
Under the guidance of Coach Edrick Floreal, London has consistently set the bar high for her performances.
In the 200m, she achieved another personal best, winning with a time of 23.01 seconds, despite the wind reading at 2.6 m/s. This marks her first 200m race since August 2023, where she initially clocked 23.71 seconds.
