5 Game South Africa Tour Starts in St. Lucia Today

The Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in St. Lucia is home to a 5 match tour of the West Indies by the South Africa Cricket team.

What is considered to be a strong West Indies A team will go head to head with South Africa A team in 3 One Day Internationals {ODI} and 2 unofficial test matches.The tour, which is scheduled for May 21st – June 11^th, is expected to showcase regional talent in an effort to widen the player pool and put the spotlight on emerging stars on the cusp of the West Indies Senior Team, according Cricket West Indies {CWI}.

The teams will do battle in 3 ODIs on May 21^st, May 24^th, and May 27^th respectively while the 2 unofficial test will be played Sunday June 2^nd and Sunday June 8^th.Alick Athanaze will lead the 50-over squad, while Tevin Imlach and Jomel Warrican will each captain one of the two “A” Test squads, gaining valuable leadership experience.
