
Twelve secondary schools will participate in the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Under-19 Male Basketball Tournament which started yesterday at the Vigie Multi-Purpose Sports Complex (VMPSC).
The teams will compete in two groups, playing games with twelve-minute quarters using running time. The top two teams in each group will be determined by the total points accumulated at the end of the group stage.
The two semifinals are set for February 18, while the third-place matchup and final are scheduled for February 20.
Defending champions Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School confidently leads Group A, which includes Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary, Micoud Secondary, Entrepot Secondary, and Patricia Secondary.
Group B features Soufriere Comprehensive, St. Mary’s College, Choiseul Secondary, Corinth Secondary, Castries Comprehensive Secondary, and Beanefield Comprehensive.
Matches for this week are as follows:
January 14, Group B: Soufriere Comprehensive/Castries Comprehensive. St Mary’s College/ Corinth Secondary.
Group A: Leon Hess Comprehensive matched up Entrepot Secondary.
January 16, Group A: Vieux Fort Comprehensive will face Micoud Secondary at 11:00 a.m., while Patricia D. James Secondary goes head-to-head with Sir Arthur Lewis Community College at 12:15 p.m.
Group B: St. Mary’s College will challenge Soufriere Comprehensive at 1:30 p.m.
