AFTER months of industrial negotiations between the Management of Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Hotel and the National Workers Union (NWU), the parties have agreed to provisions that would establish a new industrial accord.
Over one hundred workers employed within the service operational units of the hotel, based in the southern cone of the island, will benefit from the new industrial provisions.
A ten percent (10%) general wage increase will be distributed as 3% in Year 1 and 3.5% for Years 2 and 3 respectively. The contract also contains enhanced benefits such as increased Shift Allowance and Paternity Leave.
Johann Harewood, Secretary General of the NWU, has disclosed that the signing and implementation of the Industrial Accord will be done within the shortest possible period so that satisfaction and comfort will be brought to all parties.
A general meeting is being scheduled at which all workers will be appraised of the details of the new contract.
The new industrial agreement will run from January 1st 2025 to December 31st 2027.
