Team 758 U-15 Boys Advance to Next Stage of Concacaf Championships

Following two exciting victories and a drawn match, Saint Lucia advances to the next round of the 2023 Concacaf U-15 Boys Tournament in convincing fashion.

With a revamped fixture and grouping n the Concacaf Boys U- 15 tournament, Saint Lucia was placed in Group G of League B with Aruba, Bermuda and Cayman Islands.

In their opening fixture on Sunday, Saint Lucia triumphed over Bermuda 2-nil, and Team 758 were once again in an offensive mode to topple the Caymans, on Monday, and head the group. Team 758 goal scorers were Shevon Byron with a brace, while Thierry Morille, Keegan Joseph and Justin Germaine converted the other goals.

In the final match on Tuesday, Saint Lucia held Aruba to a goalless draw to top the group with seven points. They will next play the second-place team in Group F in the next round of the competition.

Currently, Saint Lucia heads Group G with 6 pts, followed by Aruba and Bermuda with 3 pts each.

Meanwhile, Group C of the Caribbean Club Shield got underway last Friday (August 4) where Etoile Matoury of French Guiana defeated B1 FC of Saint Lucia 4-0 at the St. Kitts National Football Association Technical Centre.

The Kittitians netted all four goals in the first half, set up  with two early goals in the first 10 minutes from Calvin Soga in the 5th and Jimmy Benice in the 8th. Wilfried

Andrews made it 3-0 in the 36th before Galimo Wilfried closed things out in the 44th for the 4 – 0 final result.

Meanwhile B 1 suffered their second straight defeat going down to Robin Hood FC out of Bermuda 5 – 0.

Shaquille Cairo was again a power striker, as he scored a brace with goals in the 35th and 45th minutes and other conversions from Roche Rosebel in the 21st, Tuur Don in the 74th and Carlos Da Silva in the 86th min.

Robin Hood leads Group C with six points.

In other updates; Radics were crowned champions of the La Clery Football League / Parliamentary Cup, last Saturday (August 5) at the La Clery Playing Field.

Radics fought back relentlessly to overhaul Active Hill Strikers 3-1.  Benjamin Mc Donald gave Active Hill Strikers the lead in the 4th min of play to go into the interval.

However, on the resumption Radics got into their stride completely dominating as they scored three unanswerable goals to lift the coveted trophy.

Shawn Alcee scored a brace in the 55th and 70th min, with Kervon Gordon netting in the 62nd min.

In the Third Place Play Off, La Clery U-19 defeatedAgardianz FC on penalties after the game ended in a goalless draw.

The tournament leading goal scorer was Benjamin Mc Donald of Active Strikers.
