Primary Schools Football Tournament into Round of 16

On Thursday, matches continued in the Ministry of Education/ Saint Lucia Football Association [SLFA] Inc. Round of 16 Primary Schools Football tournament at venues island-wide.

At the SAB Playing Field, Camille Henry Memorial defeated Laborie Primary 5 – 2. For the victors, goal scorers included braces from Tray Constantine and Jaylan Hippolyte and the other from Brandon Williams.

Scoring for Laborie were Jermain Toussaint and Glenroy Bartlette.

Soufriere Primary edged out Gordon & Walcott Methodist Memorial 3 – 2. Soufriere goal scorers were Deslie Edward, Lyon Griffith and Armani Didier, while Mikel Florent and Devonte Noel scored for Methodist.

Playing at home, Dennery Primary defeated Gros Islet Primary 6 – 2. Scoring for the winners, Jesse Noel got a hat trick, while Leon Vidal, Valencious Estephane and Kholi Vitalis also converted.

Alston Lubin scored a brace for Gros Islet.

Desruisseaux Primary playing at home earned a 3 – 0 victory over Roseau Combined with a brace from Daijhan Charles and the other from Keshawn Canchon.

At Dennery, St. Aloysious RC Boys defeated River Doree 2 – 0 with goals from Javan Charlery and Darnel Ferguson.

At the Marigot Playing Field, Canaries Primary with goals from Kendall Jones, Toress Marquis, Xavi John and Teyon Mason edged out Dame Pearlette Louisy 4 – 3; while Landon Felicien netted a brace and Barak Fedee got a goal.

Richfond Primary won by default over Bishop Charles Gachet Primary.

The preliminary round of 16 of the Primary Schools Football competition kicked off on Tuesday (May16) at venues island-wide, with the following results:

Desruisseaux Combined vs. River Doree 5-2 [Daijhan Charles scored a beaver trick for Desruisseaux].

Gordon / Walcott Mason Memorial vs. Dennery Primary 1-1,

Dame Pearlette Louisy vs. Laborie Boys Primary 4 – 3

Soufriere Primary vs. Gros Islet Primary 2 – 1,

Canaries Primary vs. Camille Henry Memorial 6 – 1[Trenton Henry scored a hat trick].

Meanwhile, today (Saturday) the SLFA Inc’s launch of the High-Performance Centre for the Southern Zone takes place at the Soufriere Mini Stadium from 9.00 am – 11.00.

Selective Under-14 players from the following leagues are expected to participate; Vieux Fort North and South, Laborie, Choiseul and Soufriere.
