This season’s Dream 11 Saint Lucia T10 Blast has been moving along quite speedily as competing teams look to make the most of their chances in a bid for the championship title.

In the most recent match, on Wednesday, at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground [DSCG] Soufriere recorded their third victory in four matches when they got the better of South Castries Lions by five runs in an exciting encounter that went down to the final over.

Sent in, Soufriere lost the early wicket of captain, Shanii Mesmain, who fell to Xavier Gabriel with the total on 8 in the second over. A second-wicket partnership of 78 between opener Julian Sylvester 43 (30) 5×4, 2×6 and Tarryck Gabriel 25 (20) gave a semblance of respectability to the total.

When South Castries replied, Noelle Leo and Malcolm Monrose gave them more than a decent platform with an opening stand of 34 from 17 balls before the more aggressive Leo was dismissed by Bradley Tisson for 29 (14) 5×4, 1×6. Thereafter, the scoring rate dropped but South Castries still kept pace with the asking rate up to the last over when 12 were needed for victory.

Jervan Charles, who was very economical with his first over conceding just 5 runs, was entrusted with the final over. He dismissed Wade Clovis with the first delivery and conceded just four more runs off the next five balls to lead his team to victory.
