Gun Violence Takes Two More Lives Monday Night

Monday night was indeed a busy one for police officers attached to the Babonneau and Rodney Bay Police Stations as gun violence dominated their schedules.

It began at 7:30p.m. with officers from the Babonneau Police Station investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 22-year-old Lawrence Dante Maximin of Balata.

Maximin, was transported to the Owen King European Hospital (OKEUH) via ambulance with apparent gunshot wounds to his body. He was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.

Almost two hours later officers from the same station responded to a report of a shooting at Hill 20, about 9:10 p.m. On arrival at the scene, Officers were informed that three victims were transported to a medical facility via private transportation. And were in a stable condition.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force encourages anyone with information in relation to the two incidents to contact the Babonneau Police Station at 456-4120 or Crime hotline 555 for anonymous reporting.

Officers attached to the Rodney Bay Police Station found themselves investigating the circumstances of a shooting at the Fishing Complex, Gros Islet, about 10:10 p.m. also on Monday night.

The victim, 35-year-old Garvin Benjamin Emmanuel, was transported to the Owen King European Hospital (OKEUH) via ambulance with apparent gunshot wounds to his body. He was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner. A second victim received gunshot wounds and is in a stable condition at a medical facility.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.
