St. Lucia will be represented at the World Athletics Championships by sprint sensation and recently crowned NCAA Women’s Outdoor Champion, and Big 12 Outdoor Performer of the Year, Julien Alfred. The 2022 collegiate track & field season saw Alfred establish a new Collegiate 60m Dash record, and run the fourth fastest women’s 100m in the world for 2022, trailing only Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, Shericka Jackson and Elaine Thompson Herah. Alfred holds St. Lucia national track & field records in the women’s 60m, 100m and 200m.

Also expected to  take part are Bahamas’ Shaunae Miller-Uibo, Grenada’s Anderson Peters and Kimani James, Trinidad & Tobago’s Jereem Richards and Keshorn Walcott, Jamaica’s Oblique Seville, Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, Shericka Jackson and Elaine Thompson Herah.

In total, Winners TV will present approximately 75 hours of live World Athletics Championships broadcast television coverage throughout the 10-day competitive meet including ten nights of live primetime coverage (July 15-24), and seven days of live afternoon coverage, plus extensive replays. Winners TV will broadcast all competition sessions from Eugene and the daily broadcast schedule will be shared across Winners TV’s Facebook and Instagram channels.

The prestigious meet will be held at University of Oregon’s iconic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., which re-opened its doors in 2021 and has hosted multiple U.S. and NCAA championship meets and Diamond League competitions, making it only fitting that it hosts the first-ever outdoor World Championships in the U.S. In fact, Hayward Field is the same track where Alfred won her two NCAA Outdoor Championships earlier this year.

Live coverage of the World Athletics Championships on Winners TV begins July 15th through July 24th and will include a nightly, live prime time World Athletics Championships in-studio show hosted by a panel of knowledgeable sports personalities.

In addition to the World Athletics Championships Oregon22, Winners TV is set to present live coverage of the Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 from July 28 to August 8, 2022 from Birmingham, England.
