In light of the inclement weather, all schools have been closed for today, Monday June 27th. However, the Ministry of Education did inform candidates that regional exams CAPE continue, uninterrupted.
Inclement weather has been sweeping across the island since Sunday, and it is forecast to continue into Tuesday night.
The forecast informed that a strong tropical wave located about 950 miles east-southeast of the southern Windward Islands, is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h. Environmental conditions, they say, appear conducive for further development and a tropical depression is likely to form during the next couple of days.
This system is forecast to reach the Windward Islands on Tuesday night and move over the southeastern Caribbean Sea on Wednesday and Thursday.
Windward Island residents have been advised to monitor the progress of the system, and residents in hazard-prone areas are asked to take extreme precautions.
