Grenada Votes A New Mitchell

Preliminary results in Grenada show that the main opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC) won Thursday’s general elections.

Nine of the 15 seats have been won by the NDC, while the remainder went to the New National Party of Prime Minister Keith Mitchell.

Dickon Mitchell, 44, who took over the NDC in October last year, won the St David constituency by 4,414 to 2,742 votes, defeating Foreign Affairs Minister Oliver Joseph.

As per its website, the NDC expressed its gratitude to God and to Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique’s people.
