Police officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department, Vieux Fort, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 21-year-old Jesus Blanchard of West Hall Group/Shine Drive, Vieux Fort.
A report of a shooting at the intersection of Hospital Street and Jesse Street, was referred to the Vieux Fort Police Station for investigation, about 11:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
The victim, Jesus Blanchard, was transported to the St. Judes Hospital via ambulance where he succumbed. A post mortem is scheduled for a subsequent date.

Meanwhile Vieux Fort residents say they are in fear of their lives due to the frequency of gun related incidences in the community.
Just one day after the fatal shooting of Blanchard, residents of Bruceville spoke of masked men armed with guns patrolling the area and gunshots ringing out shortly after.
Then on Monday, May 30, Dwight Sealy, 33, was shot several times, very close to where Blanchard was shot and killed. Sealy is alive and hospitalised according to reports reaching THE VOICE yesterday. It is hoped he will assist police in their investigations into this spate of shooting in Vieux Fort.
