On Friday, June 24, the Farmer’s Market will be held at Constitution Park, Castries, where the Mango Festival will also be held that day.
The Mango Festival is being hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM). The festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., will showcase various ways in which the popular fruit can be used to prepare dishes and other food products. There will also be a mango eating competition, and mango plants will be on sale.
On Saturday, June 25, the Farmer’s Market moves to Dennery South, in observance of Fishermen’s Feast. Residents of the east coast fishing community will get the chance to showcase their locally-grown produce that will be on sale.
The Farmer’s Market is fast becoming a staple event for many communities across Saint Lucia, especially for the spin-offs it generates.
