According to a post by the Minister of Sports and Parliamentary Representative for Gros Islet, Hon. Kenson Casimir, the planned April 29th return of Gros Islet Friday Night Street Party has been rescheduled to Friday, May, 6th.
The Facebook post reads “due to the unavailability of all the resources that are needed for the execution of the event this Friday, the reopening of Gros Islet Friday night has been rescheduled to next Friday, May 6th.”
Minister Casimir confirmed he had been in consultation with the president of the vendors association and the membership is satisfied with the new date.
On Friday, 11th March, 2022 marked two years since the cancellation of the Gros Islet Friday Night Street Party. The world-renowned Gros Islet Street Party is one of the island’s premier nighttime activities that is yet to make a comeback since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
