Company officials from RUBIS West Indies Limited and the Leadership and Shop Stewards from the National Workers Union (NWU) have reached a settlement on a new industrial agreement.
Given the current COVID-19 environment and other associated issues the parties agreed to a five percent general wage increase spread over a three year period. The breakdown will be disbursed as 2% in Year One, 1.5% in Year Two and 1.5% in Year Three. All employees will receive one year’s retroactive payment.
It is expected that the new industrial agreement will be signed within the shortest possible time to allow for its implementation.
Meanwhile, officials from St. Jude Hospital and the National Workers Union are planning for an urgent sit-down to discuss outstanding issues.
