Teacher Suffering from Blood Clots Denied Exemption

On St. Vincent and the Grenadines, teachers and the government are at odds over mandated vaccination policies, resulting in protests from citizens.

According to a Grade Two teacher who protested, she was refused medical exemption despite suffering from blood clots.

As reported by iwnsvg, the teacher confirmed receiving a letter stating that her medical condition did not meet the criteria for exemption, so she would be required to comply with Rule 5 of the Statutory Rule and Orders.

The Statutory Rule and Orders clearly state that workers had to take at least one dose of the vaccine by Dec. 3 in order to keep their jobs.

Media outlets captured posters with slogans like “From Heroes to Zeros” with a few citizens accusing the government of acting like a dictatorship.

In a December 9th release from the Government of St. Vincent, as of the deadline December 3rd , the Ministry of Education had not received proof of the COVID-19 vaccination status of about 320 of the nation’s 2,000 teachers.
