Sunday’s Numbers (58) Balloons COVID-19 Cases to 290

On Sunday, August 8, 2021 the Ministry of Health and Wellness received confirmation from the Ezra Long Laboratory of 58 new cases of COVID-19. This is from a batch of 359 samples taken during the period August 3, 2021 to August 7, 2021. These samples were processed on August 7, 2021.

The Ministry of Health also received confirmation of the recovery of 25 individuals bringing the total number of active cases in country to date to 290. Presently, one of the active cases requires critical care at the Respiratory Hospital. The new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 5837.

The Ministry of Health continued its appeals to the public to protect themselves and others by limiting social activities and practicing the infection prevention and control measures. “As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to be managed, we should prepare as this will pose a demand on the healthcare resources especially the respiratory hospital, nurses, health workers and those from various organizations.”
