Commerce of Antigua, St. Lucia Join Forces with Chartered Accountants of the Eastern Caribbean

ANOTHER successful Training Programme was hosted by the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce as it continues to deliver its Business Education Agenda.

On July 21st and 22nd Finance for Non-Financial Managers was the programme delivered to 32 participants. The workshop was designed for Executives who do not have a strong Accounting or Finance background, but who must deal with company’s financial information either as a Manager or when dealing with their Bankers. The Program Design was supported by the German Sparkassenstiftung.

While the St. Lucia Chamber has a fairly well known and long track record in providing training to members of the Business Community in St. Lucia, this was the first time that the St. Lucia Chamber organized training was made available to the business community in sister islands. Partnering with the Antigua & Barbuda Chamber of Commerce Limited, also a member of the Caribbean Chambers Network (CARICHAM), was a deal made in heaven as the number of participants revealed a shared need for such programs.

The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce is delighted with this collaboration and what it portends for future endeavours being organized by either of the two Chambers.

The Partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Eastern Caribbean (St. Lucia Branch) is also a burgeoning one with the two institutions partnering on other training enterprises in the past. The Chamber is specifically pleased with this working relationship which it hopes it can expand as it is keen on providing its members with an Inside Edge by working with credible and high quality facilitators and institutions as it delivers high value to members. Finance for Non- Financial Managers was facilitated by three high level, knowledgeable and experienced accountants and facilitators like Mrs. Sue-Ann, Charlery Payne, Ms. Joanne Cooper and President of the Institute, Andrea St. Rose.

The Chamber urges establishments interested in the training “Finance for Non-Financial Managers” to make known their interest (by calling the Chamber at 1-758 452-3165 or email at [email protected],) as the next program is scheduled to be delivered within the next eight weeks.
