Units of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force conducted an operation on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, during which time, a search of a sealed goods container was initiated. The container was housed within the enclosed premises of a business in the north of the island.
The assistance of partner agencies, including the Customs and Excise Department was sought, resulting in the recovery of a substantial quantity of suspected compressed cannabis. The contents are currently being processed by law enforcement officials. A full assessment of the weight of the contents was not completed at press time.
No one has been arrested to date, but a comprehensive investigation has been launched into the matter.
