The donation made possible through self-generated funding by the Gros Islet North Youth and Sports Council (GINYSC) in commemoration of Saint Lucia’s National Youth Month, seeks to further drive the Council’s commitment to foster youth development and empowerment in the community.

The GINYSC says they are aware of the importance of access to devices for online learning and the financial crunch the COVID-19 pandemic has placed on many families. According to President Ms. Raejean Montoute, “this is our way of giving back to the community, we are a Youth and Sports Council, that believes in youth empowerment, and although we can only donate two devices today. This will go a long way in terms of the educational development of the students.”

The Council confirmed that they are looking forward to hosting more initiatives of a similar nature in the near future.
