Two men are nursing serious injuries after the motorcycle they were riding came into contact with another vehicle on the Dennery highway.
From video footage obtained by the news desk, it appeared that both the bike rider and his passenger, were riding without proper safety gear at the time of the collision.
“Some riders believe it’s only helmet and they are good”, a bike enthusiast lamented, “when you ride you must make sure you are completely protected with helmet, proper shoes, gloves, etc.”
Both men appeared to be conscious but in immense pain while being tended to by medical personnel, however, the bike laid on the hot asphalt surface in shambles with all plastic fairings scattered across the road.
The island has recorded a significant increase in accidents involving motorcycles, the most recent occurring on the Gros Islet highway a few days ago.
